Section & Ground

We are an architecture practice in Pune working on houses, workplaces and small public buildings. We design in section before we design in plan, and we publish the drawings for every project on this site — because a plan tells you how a building is organised and a section tells you what it will be like to stand inside it.

02 / THE PRACTICE

Architecture is a drawing discipline. We publish the drawings.

A photograph tells you what a building looks like from one position, in one light, on one day. A plan tells you how it is organised. A section tells you whether it will be pleasant to stand inside. Publishing only the first is how most practice websites end up indistinguishable from a photographer’s client list.

So every project here carries its set — site plan, floor plans, sections, elevations, details — and every sheet opens at a size where it can actually be read. The unbuilt work and the competitions we did not win sit in the same index as everything else, because a portfolio that shows only what completed gives a false account of how practice goes.

04 / ENQUIRIES

Have a site, a brief, or a question about whether something is buildable?

The first conversation costs nothing and usually clarifies more than it commits to. Tell us where the site is and what you are trying to do.
